Author Jeff Blumenfeld will discuss how budding adventurers--or even armchair explorers with a dream trip in mind--can fund and arrange their own travel experience. He will talk about how to get started with a proposal, identify and interest likely sponsors, use technology to stay in touch… and what to do if plans suddenly go awry.

Your presenter: Jeff Blumenfeld is editor and publisher of Expedition News, an insider’s guide to the business of adventure marketing. A member of The Explorers Club and American Alpine Club, he is also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in London where he has presented on the subject of expedition sponsorship. Blumenfeld runs Blumenfeld and Associates, Inc., a public relations firm in Darien and is the author of You Want To Go Where? (Skyhorse Publishing, 2009).
